Why is this better than bottled water?

Environmentally we are not wasting plastic bottles as Little Penguin is reusable. Most bottle water is just filtered tap water, so it is not alkaline. Alkaline bottled water is usually stored in tanks so air pollutants can still reduce the alkalinity of the water.

Is it safe to filter tank, bore, lake water or ocean water?

We do not recommend that this product is used with microbiologically contaminated water or water from unknown sources. Our product is intended to filter regular tap water.

Instruction say it need to replace the filter every2 months. What happnes if I use it for longer period than 2 months?

The quality of water may be affected.

How much water can I filter through one filter?

Generally you can filter 150 L of water through one filter, however, we still recommend changing the filter every 2 months to maintain the optimum quality of the water.

Is it BPA free?

Yes, they are BPA (Bisphenol A) free.

When should I change the filter?

Change needed after using the filter for 2 months of usage or 150 litres of usage (about 214 refills)

Does the filter have an expiry date?

No, the filters will not expire until they come into contact with water. Replacement filters should be stored in a cool, dry place. However, for optimum quality, we recommend keeping the filters for no longer than 2 years.

Filters should be replaced 2 months from first contact with water – even if it has not filtered 150Litres of water in that time.

What should I do with my used filters?

Our filter cartridges are made 100% recyclable and could be safely dispose in the recycle bin.

How do I maintain the quality of the bottle?

We recommend you to clean your bottle in a regular basis as the outside of the bottle is exposed to the elements, and is therefore susceptible to developing harmful bacteria if not properly maintained.

To clean bottle, first remove silicone sleeve and wash with a mild detergent in tepid or warm water ecobud’s activated oxygen water to sterilize and deodorize..
Unscrew lid from bottle, and detach filter. The filter may only be cleaned with cold tap water. However, the lid can be cleaned with a mild detergent in tepid or warm water. Rinse thoroughly before use, and reattach filter.
The glass bottle can either be cleaned in tepid or warm water with a mild detergent, or in the top rack of a dishwasher. Ensure bottle is rinsed thoroughly before next use.
Reassemble all parts of bottle.
